Listening Books are a national charity that provides an audiobook library service to children and adults who struggle to read or hold a book due to an illness, disability, mental health issue or learning difficulty such as dyslexia. They currently have funding to offer a number of FREE individual memberships to people living in Berkshire who would find their usual membership fees (ranging from £20 to £45 per year) a barrier to joining the service.

Books Carers Read Survey

Able Community Care’s, Live-in Carers travel to work, they read on the train, the bus or when they stop for a coffee break when driving. Their care workers read to relax in their breaks, before they go to sleep and Able Community Care are asking them, as they would like to know, what they are reading. Is it fact or fiction, thrillers or romance?

Trading standards experts are urging people to report scams and attempted scams to the authorities in response to figures that suggest 95 per cent of such crimes go unreported.

The Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) has launched its Stand Against Scams campaign which encourages MPs, councillors and community leaders to sign up and become a #scambassador.

Patient Panel


Across Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead, Slough and Bracknell Forest, the East Berkshire CCG's have set up a Patient Panel to advise and work with the NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups in a variety ways. They would like the group to be representative of our local population, which means they want people of all ages, gender, faith and ethnicity, all levels of ability including sensory and learning disabilities as well as a good geographic spread.
