Need a little support in your daily life and wondering what's available?

Take a look at what Assistive Technology is available — those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other general daily living activities.

Daily Living Made Easy event that will help you and your loved ones discover equipment and technologies that could support your daily activities.

As well as seeing innovative products you will be able to access advice and information.

Even if you don't need any equipment or support now, maybe you know someone who does or you may want to prepare for your own future needs.

If you need a little bit of extra support, we want to help you remain active and independent for as long as possible by using appropriate equipment and aids to daily living.

The event, in the Desborough Suite in Maidenhead Town Hall, is open between 10.30am and 2.00pm on Monday 12th September 2018.

There is FREE Entry and a gift for the first 100 attendees.

Morrison stores introduce Quieter Hour

Every Saturday morning between 9am and 10am Morrison stores have introduce a Quieter Hour, which will include:

  • Dimming the lights
  • Turning the music and radio off
  • Avoiding making tannoy announcements
  • Reducing the movement of trolleys and baskets
  • Turning checkout beeps and other electrical noises down
  • Placing a poster outside to tell customers it is Quieter Hour

Sport in Mind Timetable

Sport in Mind delivers free sport and physical activity sessions to help people experiencing mental health issues (18+). All our session are delivered by qualified coaches and are drop-in sessions, so no need to book in advance. They are open to all abilities, with the aim of having fun in a safe and supported environment. We provide all the equipment so participants will just need to wear comfy clothes and maybe bring a bottle of water! You can find more information about Sport in Mind on our website

Learn My Way is a website of free online courses for beginners, helping you develop digital skills to make the most of the online world. (Please note this is not us providing this service, the course we tested, Universal Credit was useful).

Universal Credit: a how to guide

In this course you will learn about Universal Credit and how to work out if you can claim. The course will also show you how to make your first claim online and tell you what information you will need to do this.

Universal Credit is a single benefit payment that is replacing six other benefits and tax credits. Knowing if you are entitled to payments could help your finances and those of your family. Universal Credit is available in some areas of the country currently, but it will be available everywhere soon.
